Dental Exams & Cleanings

Dental exams and cleanings are an important part of maintaining good oral health for
children of all ages. Regular oral exams help in preventing cavities, monitoring teeth
and gums to ensure they are developing properly. At London Bridge Pediatric Dentistry,
we recommend regular dental exams and cleanings as early as their first birthday.
During a dental exam,

• The dentist will examine your child’s teeth, gums, and jaws to assess their health and
  developments
• orthodontic screening for potential jaw misalignment and dental malocclusion
• When needed, X-rays will be taken to help in diagnosing tooth decay and other
  problems. We use digital X-rays because they are a safer and more effective alternative
  to traditional X-rays.
• Our professionally trained staff will clean your child’s mouth to remove plaque and
  tartar from their teeth. After which, they receive fluoride varnish treatment. Fluoride
  makes tooth enamel stronger and helps prevent cavities
• You and your child will be given instructions on oral health maintenance and
  monitoring
